Congratulations to Karin Reuter-Rice, PhD, CCRN, CPNP - AC/PC, FCCM, recipient of the "AFPNP 2013 Researcher of the Year Award" presented at last week’s NAPNAP Conference in Boston, MA.

The prestigious AFPNP Researcher of the Year Award, is presented by the Association of Faculties of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and recognizes a pediatric nurse practitioner who has made significant contributions through research to the advancement of pediatric healthcare.  The award was presented by AFPNP president, Judy Verger, PhD, RN, CPNP-AC, and AFPNP President - Elect, Mary Berg, DNP, RN, CPNP-PC.

NAPNAP offers a variety of awards to recognize those individuals and organizations that promote children's health and PNP practice.  In addition, the NAPNAP Foundation supports education and practice through a number of grant and scholarship programs.

As the 2014 NAPNAP Conference wound down, Melnic Consulting Group and national certification board, PNCB, co-hosted the NAPNAP student reception at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston.  This was a great opportunity for students, preceptors and faculty to mingle and relax while enjoying tasty food, drinks, and time together.  Jill Gilliland, President of Melnic Consulting Group, commented that, “we continue to be amazed at the energy and enthusiasm of the students as they prepare to become the PNP leaders of tomorrow.”  Melnic Consulting Group, along with PNCB, is proud to support the professional and educational advancement of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners throughout their careers and look forward to assisting them along the way.

Melnic DNP Student Scholarship Award Winner | NAPNAP 2014

Congratulations to Jenny Spahr, the recipient of the first annual DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) Student Scholarship Award sponsored by Melnic Consulting Group!  The award was presented to her earlier today at the Awards Breakfast during the 2014 NAPNAP Conference being held in Boston this week.  The DNP Student Scholarship is a $2000 award which includes a $750 grant for educational expenses and registration, hotel and travel reimbursement for the 2014 NAPNAP Conference.  Jenny is a student in the DNP Program at Purdue University and anticipates completion of her degree in Summer 2015.  Currently a Major in the United States Air Force, Jenny has served in the military for 17 years.  Melnic is so pleased to support Jenny’s continuing education and professional development with this first annual scholarship award, and we look forward to supporting a future DNP candidate every year.  Best wishes for continued success in your nursing career, Jenny, as you pursue your doctorate!
