Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking an outstanding administrator with proficiencies in clinical management, organizational analysis, and leadership for the position of Director for the Cancer Center. In order to effectively lead the center, the Director is responsible for the coordination and organization of the Cancer Center and its members and faculty; the multidisciplinary clinical care provided through the program; and sound fiscal management of its assets, in addition to working in conjunction with the Emory University School of Medicine and Emory Winship Cancer Institute. Potential candidates must exhibit competency in prior management experiences, with a proven record of effective team leadership. The Aflac Cancer Center is recognized by Child magazine as one of the top five childhood cancer centers in the United States, treating over 350 patients annually in addition to following over 2,500 patients with sickle cell disease, hemophilia and other blood disorders. Through advanced patient care, committed research efforts, professional development opportunities, and outstanding personnel, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta remains a bastion of medical and professional excellence in the American South. Why join Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta….Do you want to lead one of the leading pediatric cancer, hematology, and blood and marrow transplantation programs in the country? We need a leader to establish, coordinate, and maintain an organizational structure for Aflac Cancer Center Inpatient and Outpatient Clinical Services at all campuses. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Nursing Officer.

The Aflac Cancer Center provides advanced diagnostic and clinical care, as well as innovative treatment and research options to children, adolescents and young adults. For every child and family seen, the Aflac Cancer Center provides a unique course of treatment—both clinically and emotionally. Located at both Children’s at Egleston and Children’s at Scottish Rite, the Aflac Cancer Center features:

-Three hospital campus locations with a total of 40 inpatient rooms and 10 specially designed rooms for blood and marrow transplants
-Three outpatient centers with a full range of pediatric infusional and apheresis services
-Onsite, innovative diagnostics, cell processing laboratory and oncology pharmacy
-A 20-plus-member family support team—including child life specialists, social workers, chaplains, teachers, psychologists and financial coordinators—that attends to the patient’s and family’s emotional, physical and financial well-being, as well as help the family identify and use all available resources during this difficult time

By 2008, the facilities will have grown to include additional inpatient rooms, expanded transplant facilities and a new 14,000-square-foot ambulatory facility at Children’s at Egleston.
