The PNP in Emergency is responsible for the direct care and follow-up of patients including clinical practice, consultation, professional development, education and research. Specific responsibilities of the PNP in this fast paced, high volume ED include treating acute and chronic childhood or adolescent illness and injury, prescribing medications appropriate for age and diagnosis, and communicating plans of care effectively to families and team members.
