Join the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia with an exciting new opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to lead the Advanced Practice Nursing function at our organization. The Director of APN provides leadership, operational, programmatic, and strategic support for APN practice. The Director of APN works collaboratively with physician, nursing, and administrative colleagues to leverage the role of the APN.
We are looking for someone with strong leadership responsibilities within the APN role to do committee work, program development, education, etc. There are currently between 250 and 300 APN's at CHOP, mostly NP's. The role is a leadership role which is designed to establish consistent and cohesive systems and programs at CHOP for the APN's. The Director may be involved with:
1. Defining the role of the APN system-wide
2. Creating a consistent orientation program for new APN hires
3. Creating programs to develop APN's and to bring them together as a group
4. Examining salary structure vs. roles, on-boarding and recruitment
5. Looking at the physician practices we work with and how to better integrate systems

The ideal candidate has worked as an APN (preferably an NP) in a large acute care setting. This qualification is not flexible. This includes leadership responsibilities within the APN role, committee work, program development, education, etc.

There are currently between 250 and 300 APN's at CHOP, mostly NP's. The role is a leadership role which is designed to establish consistent and cohesive systems and programs at CHOP for the APN's.
The position involves program development and strategy role vs. operational and supervisory.
