Join this leading academic center children's hospital as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in their Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). The Advanced Practice Provider in the PICU of this leading children’s hospital will work with the PICU team in the care and management of patients from newborn to adolescents, aged 0-18, providing a full range of services. They will provide comprehensive care to critically ill and injured children including diagnosis and treatment of complex life threatening conditions and performing emergent and invasive procedures. Specific responsibilities of the PNP/PA in the PICU include performing admission histories and physicals, creating plans of care and collaborating with the attending physician during the entire patient course. They will use their pediatric nursing skills and experience to assess and interpret the data and information needed to identify each patient’s care requirements and provide that family-centered care for their patients.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join the multidisciplinary team that provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for infants, children and adolescents, from newborn to age 21, in their Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. The PNP in the PICU of this leading children’s hospital will provide state-of-the-art care for children and young adults who have life-threatening illnesses or are recovering from major surgery. Medical conditions being treated include respiratory failure, metabolic and seizure disorders, multiorgan failure, shock, toxic ingestions and ECMO support. Patients recovering from general, cardiac, thoracic, orthopedic, neurologic and ear, nose and throat surgery stay in the unit for their post-op care, and the PICU is also the Level I “shock trauma” and burn unit for critically injured and burned children up to 15 years of age. The area's only Level I pediatric trauma center, this PICU uses the most advanced critical care technology along with exceptional care and compassion to treat their patients.

Become a member of the Pediatric Intensive Care team at this leading children’s hospital as the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the PICU. The PNP in this role provides and directs the comprehensive and expert advanced nursing care required for critically ill or injured children who require 24 hour monitoring.
