Providing comprehensive care and follow-up to patients aged 0-18, the PNP or PA in the CICU evaluates patient histories and physicals, and develops and implements patient plans of care, including medical and pharmacological management, as needed. They initiate referrals and follow-up on consults to other providers, and they are a resource for age-appropriate and effective patient, family and staff education.

Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Jobs

This leading children's hospital on the West coast has an opportunity for a PNP to join their cardiology team in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit.  The advanced practice provider in this role is a clinical expert in the management of expert care for pediatric patients with congenital or acquired heart disease and their families.  The Nurse Practitioner in this 12 bed CVICU plans, implements and monitors plans of care for their critically ill patients.  They order and interpret laboratory and radiographic tests in addition to performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.  

We currently have a great opportunity for an experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit of this leading academic children's hospital in the Southwestern United States.  The advanced practice nurse in the role of PNP in the CVICU is a member of the team that cares for severely ill heart patients aged 0-18 in the 21 bed CVICU specialty setting.  They provide critical care for patients with congenital or acquired heart disease including admission histories and physicals, plans of care and day to day management (in collaboration with the attending) of CVICU patients.  The Advanced Practice Practitioner also initiates referrals and follow up on consults to other providers.  The Heart Center performs 500 cardiac surgeries and 300 open heart procedures annually, and the CVICU is staffed with intensivists who are trained in cardiac and critical care medicine.  This full-time position is open to Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioners (PNPs).  

Advanced Practice Cardiac Care Jobs

The Heart Center of this leading academic children's hospital has a opportunity for a pediatric nurse practitioner to join their team that provides comprehensive care for patients in their 22 bed Cardiac Step-down Unit.  The PNP is responsible for assessments, diagnoses and plans of care in this progressive care unit that provides cardiac step-down services that include 24 hour live telemetry monitoring, temporary pacing, ventricular assist devices, ventilator management and management of vasoactive infusions.  Care and monitoring in this unit are provided for high-risk cardiac pediatric patients who are recovering from serious illness, post-operative cardiothoracic surgical and cardiac catheterization procedures. 

This is a new opportunity for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Cardiac Step Down unit of this leading academic children's hospital. The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Cardiac Step Down will be a member of the incredible interdisciplinary team that cares for high-risk cardiac patients and their families, treating infants, children and young adults. The Cardiac Step Down Unit provides state-of-the-art care for pediatric patients who are seriously ill but require less than intensive care. They are patients recovering from heart surgery or cardiac catheterization, patients on IV medications following transplant, and patients experiencing arrhythmia or children who are receiving non-surgical treatments for various cardiac conditions. 

This leading academic children's hospital has a position for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in their Heart Institute caring for children and young adults who have been diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy, a disease that causes the heart muscle to become weakened and enlarged, affecting efficient blood flow into and out of the heart. The Advanced Practice Nurse in this role is skilled in physical assessment, diagnosis, well-child care and management of illness, leadership, consultation, research and teaching. They provide primary or acute/chronic health care, including clinical management, for Cardiomyopathy patients. The PNP in Cardiomyopathy uses their clinical expertise to collect data necessary for assessment, diagnosis and creating plans of patient care. They evaluate the diagnosis and effectiveness of interventions and treatment, and develop outcomes as measurable goals, subject to revision as necessary during the course of treatment. 

We have a new, exciting opportunity at this leading children's hospital for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner working with infants in their Single Ventricle/Interstage Program. Using your experience in pediatric cardiac nursing, you will provide care for pediatric patients with single ventricle defects who are in the Interstage Program - high risk infants that need constant monitoring that ensures their survival and quality of life during the fragile period between surgeries. The PNP in the Single Ventricle/Interstage Program uses their clinical expertise to collect and analyze monitoring data relating to patient growth and development to ensure these infants are receiving the appropriate post-op care, and that any problems are being addressed or plans of care are being adjusted accordingly. The PNP is a nurse leader that uses their skills and experience to provide optimal cost-effective care management in this team environment for both inpatients and outpatients. They educate and support the families and other care providers, communicating regularly with them regarding progress. 

Pediatric Heart Transplant Jobs
