Iowa Association of Nurse Practitioners – Spring Conference

The IANP Nurse Practitioner Spring Conference kicks off tomorrow, May 9th at the Iowa Methodist
Medical Center in Des Moines, IA.  The conference will begin at 8:30am with special keynote speaker, Mary Chesney, PhD, RN, CPNP, Health Policy Chair of NAPNAP, discussing the implications of the Affordable Care Act as it pertains to children and their families and share her insights from service to the NAPNAP organization. 

Jill Gilliland, President of Melnic Consulting Group, will hold a lunch presentation entitled, PNP Career Connections: Manage, Navigate, and Negotiate Your Way to a  Rewarding Career as a PNP.  PNP students, New Grads, and veteran Pediatric Nurse Practitioners are encouraged to attend. 
Additional presentations on Thursday include:  Talking with Teens: Adolescent Assent, Consent and Confidentiality – Debra Downing, ARNP, CPNP, MSN, Bipolar Disorder and Primary Psychosis in Children – Sasha Khosravi, DO, Hanging Out or Hooking Up?
