Seeking Camp Nurse - Rewarding Volunteer Opportunity

Camp Kesem Berkeley is a non-profit UC Berkeley student run organization that offers a free week long summer camp for bay area kids and teens whose parents have or had cancer.

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response from both campers and families, we are looking to add a second camp nurse to our program volunteers.  The camp nurse will act as the medical resource for the campers and counselors during the week of camp.

This sleep-away camp runs August 13-18, 2012 and is held in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We are looking for a nurse who would be able to volunteer a week of their time to help make camp as beneficial as possible for the campers. A stipend is also available. You will be working alongside another nurse and will be responsible for the medications and anything else that comes up for the 80 campers.

At camp, we focus on giving the kids a week to have fun in a supportive and accepting environment. We are not a therapy camp, but we have opportunities for the campers to talk about their situations at home if they choose to.

If interested, please contact Nellie Nafissi or Ameil Kenkare at (510)495-6542 for more information.  Please send your resume to ckcampercare@gmail.com
