Melnic Sponsors Luncheon for Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Graduates

Melnic Consulting Group was thrilled to sponsor the 2011 Spring Luncheon honoring recent graduates of the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Iowa. The luncheon was held in conjunction with their annual business meeting during the 2011 Spring Nurse Practitioner Conference in Des Moines, Iowa. The University of Iowa proudly recognized their PNP graduates and congratulated them on all their accomplishments.

The Nurse Practitioner Conference offered a wide variety of timely topics of interest to the practicing PNP including asthma and streptococcus pyogenes. They also covered topics such as, the influence of violent video games on aggression and attention problems of children, pediatric food allergies, and adequate nutrients in children’s diets - particularly their levels of Vitamin D.

The Melnic Consulting Group team had the privilege of meeting many of the students and PNPs from Iowa at the NAPNAP conference this past March. From our conversations, we learned that their PNP program began in the ‘70’s as a certificate program! It now ranks among the finest college of nursing graduate programs in the United States.
