Working with inpatients and clinic patients, the acute care certified PNP in this WOC role is a specialized clinical resource and role model responsible for the quality of nursing practice and standards of care for pediatric patients in need of skin, wound, continence and ostomy care. Through patient histories, physicals and assessment, this advanced practice provider evaluates patient needs, makes recommendations for treatment, implements interventions and evaluates outcomes. They assist, coordinate, delegate, supervise and educate the nursing staff responsible for providing complex wound care to WOC patients, and they ensure continuity of care through effective communication with other care givers. This nurse practitioner also provides nursing consultation on complex WOC patient cases.
