Salary Update Tennessee Pediatric Nurse Practitioners

Average Range for a pediatric nurse practitioner in Tennessee $60,000-100,000+

Here is a set of responses to a question about salaries in Tennessee:
From a primary care pnp : Regarding Pediatric Nurse Practitioner jobs, I wish I could say Tennessee was competitive. As far as I know, the norm is $40,000-$60,000. There may be some above that, but I don't know about it. I just keep telling myself how much cheaper it is to live here (which it is).

A PNP from a children’s hospital: My salary is around 90K but the range here is quite wide. It can be as low as the high 60’s. Not sure what the top off is.
Another PNP from a children’s hospital: It is so dependent on responsibilities. I take call on holidays and weekends, round at the hospital and have hospital privileges, admit pt, manage very ill patients. I would expect a salary of $100,000 and above. For PNP’s who are in primary care, I would expect to start at $75,000.
PNP Tennessee: The average pay range is $70,000-88,900 for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in TN. Most clinics pay closer to the $70,000 range while those that work in the hospital setting make closer to the $88,000 range. Specialty Care tends to pay a better salary.

A Primary Care Clinic: We pay PNP’s between $55,000 and $65,000.
Pediatric Nurse Practitioners who are in the process of searching for a job in Tennessee at this time will not consider anything below $75,000 to 80,000. There is a wide range of salaries; primary care pnp’s account for the lower end of the range.

The only way to increase salaries is for pediatric nurse practitioners are for them to ask for a salary that they would be happy with. It is important to remember that if you are not happy as an employee because of your salary, you will eventually leave. In addition, that unhappiness can impact your day to day functionality. If you ask, you will probably receive a higher salary and the employer will get a higher probability of a long term, satisfied employee. Everyone wins.
