Salary Update Pediatric Nurse Manager and Director

Salary Update Pediatric Nursing Managers and Directors

Nationwide, hospital based pediatric managers tend to make between $70,000 and $110,000.

Pediatric Directors tend to make between $120,000 and $170,000 with a large number of Directors making around $140,000.

At leading children’s hospitals in New York and Boston there can be as much as a 57% increase in these numbers.

Satisfaction in the Director role depends a lot on the support they have in their role. That support can be financial, peer and leadership. If expectations are clear and they feel they have voice in leadership initiatives and processes, the level of satisfaction increases.

The only way to increase satisfaction and salaries is for a candidate to ask for what he or she wants. It is important to remember that if you are not happy as an employee, you will eventually leave. In addition, that unhappiness can impact your day to day functionality. If you ask, you will probably receive a higher salary, clarity in your role, more responsibility and the employer will get a higher probability of a long term, satisfied employee. Everyone wins.

Asking can be hard, please consider working with Melnic Consulting Group. We ask for you in a professional, congenial presentation of you as a candidate.
