Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Oncology Los Angeles

Los Angeles Children’s Hospital asked me to help them find a person who had a strong background in oncology and also had a desire to impact the role of the Oncology Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. The Care Manager Provides leadership for the cohort of expanded role RNs (CMs, NPs, Nurse Coordinators) in the Center for Cancer and Blood Diseases, working with the Center Nursing Administrator to assure quality care, compliance with P & P and regulatory requirements, and ongoing staff development (50%). PNP/Care Manager has a clinical role in the LIFE Survivorship and Transition Program (50%) providing nursing and medical services to long term survivors of childhood cancer, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, as well as the diagnosis and management of late effects. Works autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage clients’ health care problems. The PNP/Care Manager serves as health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate. The PNP/Care Manager will demonstrate a commitment to a patient/family-focused model of care. Qualifications: Three years pediatric nursing experience required, hematology-oncology strongly preferred. Experience in an academic, clinical research environment desirable. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational/analytical/problem-solving skills required. Bilingual (English-Spanish) fluency would be helpful.
