A leading children's hospital in the Southwestern U.S. has a full-time opportunity for an acute care certified and experienced Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to join their cardiology team in their Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. In this role, the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner is a clinical expert in the management of family-centered care for critically ill pediatric patients with congenital or acquired heart disease. In the CVICU, they conduct patient histories and physicals and create, implement and monitor plans of care. The PNP orders and interprets laboratory and radiographic tests in addition to performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, completing discharge summaries and prescribing medications. This twelve bed CVICU has the leading-edge technology needed to meet the demands of monitoring children with critical care needs. The clinical specialist Pediatric Nurse Practitioner uses their experience and excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact professionally and collaboratively with their team of world-class cardiologists and consultants as well as patients, families, staff and health care providers from other departments.
