Congratulations to
Phoenix Children’s Hospital on being named one of the top children’s hospitals in the recent annual report on
“Best Children’s Hospitals” for 2012-13 from U.S. News & World Report. One of the largest children’s hospitals in the country, Phoenix children’s is ranked nationally in four pediatric specialties – Nephrology, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Pulmonology and Neonatology (110 beds). Their $538 million expansion, completed last year, includes an eleven story tower and a PICU/CICU unit with 96 rooms. This 345 bed teaching hospital provides an “oasis of healing” in an environment that’s specifically designed to be seen through the eyes of a child. The result is a kid-friendly, family-centered pediatric medical facility that offers kids and their families hope and healing. Planning for the medical services this growing community will need in the future, they have built six Centers of Excellence in neonatology, hematology/oncology, neurosciences, cardiac services, Level I trauma and orthopedics. In addition, Phoenix Children’s is home to the only full-service pediatric diabetes center in Arizona where nearly 2,000 patients are treated every year.
Jill Gilliland, President and CEO of
Melnic Consulting Group, recently had the opportunity to tour Phoenix Children’s fabulous new hospital while meeting with their hiring team. Jill said “Phoenix Children’s Hospital did an incredible job of integrating the existing facility with the new tower. It is truly a pleasure to work with Phoenix Children’s and we value our relationship with this remarkable organization. Congratulations to Elissa, who is excited to start her new advanced practice nursing career in their CVICU. Melnic recently helped place her at Phoenix and is thrilled for both Elissa and Phoenix Children’s.”
